Rainbow and Brown Waters

Burrator and Stithians on form……..

A tougher week for fishing last week. I recommend early morning and evenings as the best time to catch at the moment and with the forecast this week set to be warm and humid that’s when you have your best chance.

Burrator was the form water last week with a great rod average of 4 fish per person with the majority of anglers catching a full bag on a variety of flies but some good dry fly fishing on klinkhammers and beetles was had.

Stithians wasn’t far behind with a really good weeks fishing and rod average of 3.2 per person with plenty of fish rising to dries.

Did you know – at Burrator at Stithians we do a 3 hour anytime ticket which is £13 and you can fish any 3 hours of the day you wish. Something to bear in mind if time is limited and you don’t want to fish when its tough in the middle of the day.

Much harder work at the brown waters last week – Fernworthy and Roadford were still productive but not prolific while it was really hard work at Colliford. There was plenty of dry fly action at Fernworthy and some cracking fish to over 2lbs caught. Roadford also produced on the dries with a claret snaffler fished into the shallower water by boat working well.
