Kennick B team win Snowbee team of four competiton at Siblyback

The annual Snowbee team of four competition took place at Siblyback on 14 April. 8 teams turned out for the much anticipated event and were greeted with very strong winds and icy cold temperatures! Why couldn’t we have had a nice spring day!?

Anglers dispersed around the lake and fished for 6 hours, 3 hours in each zone. The conditions were extremely tough, the waves on the lake were a foot high in places but, nonetheless, the competitors stuck at it all day and it was a real test of endurance and skill to even fish let alone catch anything!

The final hooter sounded at 4.00pm and anglers weighed in by the permit room with 71 fish being caught for a rod average just over 2 per person. This was pleasing given how tough conditions were. There was some stunning Blue Trout caught – the colours were spectacular! Thank you to Milemead Fisheries for those.

Rodney Wevill was the only angler to catch his limit of 6 fish, all on a minnow imitation lure. Tony Chipman caught the largest at 3lb 6oz and there was a 3lb 4oz Rainbow for Ron Wilday and fish of 3lb 1oz each for Graham Watts and Ian Elford.

Congratulations to Kennick B team who are the champions with the team consisting of captain Mike Stone, Andy Watson, Chris Bolt and Peter Brown.
